Gary Lawrence Puszakowski

"Oh the last goodbye, is the hardest one to say, this is where the cowboy rides away," by George Strait. One of Gary's all-time favorite country singers and he enjoyed his song lyrics.

Gary Lawerence Puszakowski, 59, of Sarasota, lost his courageous battle of Cancer on July 20, 2022 at his sister’s home, peacefully in Sarasota amongst family and friends.

He leaves an impressionable place in our hearts with his loving, funny personality. He truly loved to make people laugh with unique, funny humor beyond words. Gary (Pooz to some) was born on September 11, 1962 to Stanley R. Puszakowski Jr. and Mary Lou Stoker (both predeceased) in Cleveland, Ohio. (Sis and Putt ).

Gary was a standout, young, Marine with a Good Conduct Medal, Certificate of Commendation, Merit Unit Commendation, Navy Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Medal and an Expert Marksman. Gary served for 10 years and became a father of two sons Gregory Puszakowski and Jeffrey Puszakowski. He traveled to Okinawa, California, Virginia, Ohio and his favorite, Florida.

In Florida he liked fishing, boating, and fixing automobiles. He continued to maintain and fix golf carts, grass cutters, motorcycles, scooters basically anything with a motor.

If there is one, exceptional, nature, about Gary - that he loved his sons, family, friends and neighbors. He always wanted to help, laugh or participate in the holiday gatherings. He was beloved by all that knew him: a loving father, cherished brother and a best friend to many of the families and friends who he coached in Little League in Venice, Florida.

He will be forever missed and was surrounded by much love.

A Ceremony will be held August 2, 2022 at the Sarasota National Military Cemetery
