Obituary of Ronald L Hollstein
Ronald L. Hollstein 81, of Englewood, FL went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 23, 2022. He was born on September 12, 1940, in Jonesville, MI to Wilmer and Metta (Hawkins) Hollstein. He was married to his High School sweetheart, Carolyn (Elser) 63 years, and she survives.
Ron graduated from Litchfield High School, Michigan, Class of 1959. He spent 25 years working at Corning Glass, Simpson Industries, Allied Products, Sundstrand Corporation (Ames, IA) and Bendix Corporation (Overland Park, KS). In 1988, Ron formed Alpha Medical Systems and worked as an independent medical supply sales representative for 28 years. After moving to Englewood, FL full time in 2017, he ended his working career, in April of 2022, with what he referred to as his best job ever, as a crossing guard at Vineland Elementary & L.A. Ainger Middle School in Rotunda West, FL. He loved greeting the kids each morning and afternoon and took his role in ensuring their safety very seriously. As an active attendee of Fellowship Church in Englewood, Ron enjoyed attending several men’s bible study groups each week. When not found on one of the many beautiful golf courses around Englewood, Ron enjoyed woodworking, bass fishing, reading and KU basketball.
Surviving besides his wife, Carolyn are his three children, sons Jeff (Lena) Hollstein of Lake Winnebago, MO, Tim (Lisa) Hollstein of Rockford, MI, and daughter Kristina (Kelly) Lawson of Olathe, KS; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and one sister, Willene Hollstein of Litchfield, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Doris Frarey and brother William Hollstein.
There will be a Celebration of Ron’s Life from 2-2:30 pm, with a time of visitation from 2:30-4:00 pm, Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Fellowship Church, 140 Rotunda Blvd, Rotunda West, FL 33947.
