Obituary of Marylyn Denise Poss
On Wednesday September 15th Marylyn Denise “Nici” Poss (70) of North Port, Florida passed peacefully with her husband by her side. She is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Charles C. Poss. Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children and grandchildren: Michael John Piotrowski (Karen) and Tiffani Rose Barb (Kenny). She was a loving and devoted Graw-ma to five grandchildren: Tanner, Braeden, Dalton, Brooklyn and Abigail.
Nici was the oldest of nine children of the late Rosaleen and John Sacks. Dear sister of Cherie Randow (Bill), Debbie Meetre (Jimmy), Max “Tommy” Sacks (Nancy), Scott Sacks (Annette), Spencer “Paul” Sacks (Lauren). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was welcomed with open arms by her late and beloved siblings Frances “Frannie” Sacks, Barry Sacks and Steven Sacks.
Nici had a full life surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Coral Gables, Florida on December 15, 1950 and moved to Maryland shortly thereafter. After Nici graduated from high school, she started her professional career working for the Department of the Navy at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Navy Tactical Support Activity (NTSA), White Oak, MD, and the Washington Navy Yard where she held various positions from Executive Assistant to the Director, Contracts Officer and Budget Officer until her retirement in 1999. Co-workers referred to Nici as “exceptional because of her professional ability, dedication and desire to work as part of a team.” In early retirement, Nici remained active working for Mick’s Gourmet Soups and as a contractor at Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
She found her greatest joy in spending time with family, friends and her beloved grandchildren. Denise always had a dream of moving her life back to the sunny state of Florida where she was born and so she did.
She lived life to the fullest. Her home was always filled with family and friends making fun memories. Nici enjoyed life, the sunshine, a glass of wine, laughing, and hugging her grandkids.
